It’s a crisp fall 🍁morning, the kind that begs for a warm drink and a deep breath before facing the day. You open your laptop, ready to begin, but instead… you stall. You scroll. You sigh. That spark? It feels miles away.

I used to believe success was about hustle. Push through and DO!! Burning both ends of the candle. Mastering every platform, every strategy, every task. But all it did was leave me exhausted and resentful of the very business I built. Sound familiar?

Let’s talk about the 4 “zones” we often function in:

Zone of Incompetence: You dread it. You’re not good at it. You feel the stress and anxiety building within .. (For me: editing funnels or fixing, "connecting the dots" with tech. Nope.)

Zone of Competence: You can do it, but it’s draining, mundane.. You’re not the best at it because you find it boring, and it shows. (For me: Editing my older YouTube video copy .)

Zone of Excellence: You’re praised here. You’re better than most. But it still doesn’t light you up. (For me: Updating website details like LinkTree or Milkshake, making sites look pretty and eye-catching ect.)

Zone of Genius: Time disappears. Energy expands. This is where passion meets purpose.. and profit starts to flow as you capitalize on the natural gifts and talents we possess. (For me: Creating short video's, teaching Digital Marketing, giving away mini eBooks, writing this blog!)

Most women I meet (myself once included) spend way too much time in Zones 2 and 3 because of ego, (not wanting to ask anyone to help), obligation, or good ol’ "yes girl" people-pleasing. But this is what leads to burnout, boredom, and barely-there results.

✨ Step 1: Make the Good, Bad & Ugly List
(this part is a life lesson hack my Dad offered me and it works like a charm!) Divide your daily, weekly, monthly business/income earning tasks into these categories:

• Good: Things you enjoy and would gladly do again.
• Bad: The eye-rollers, that feel like a chore done with a sigh.
• Ugly: The energy-drainers, headache givers, You avoid these like the plague.
  

✨ Step 2: Identify Your “Time-Warp Tasks”
What makes time fly? Where do you get so engrossed that hours disappear? You forget to drink your water. Discover that "I guess we're ordering take out" because you were so engrossed in your task(s).

✨ Step 3: Own Your Natural Gifts
Maybe you're a storyteller. A connector. A teacher. A strategist. A inspirer. A empower-er. This isn’t about what’s on your resume. This is about your you-ness.

✨ Step 4: Ask the Game-Changer Question
What changes when you walk into a space, place.. online or off? That unique value? That’s your genius.

✨ Step 5: Build Around It, Not Against It
Automate or delegate what’s outside your zone. Yes, even if you're on a tight budget. (Swapping tasks / Bartering (trading) works too with another Biz Bestie!)

Apply This to Your Business Starting Today

For me, that meant letting go of tech (or finding high profit "done for me" set up affiliate business models) and doubling down on what I love: creating content, connection, storytelling, and making women feel seen. Once I embraced that, everything shifted.

I felt lighter.
I had more fun.
I started glowing and growing again.
(And with that purpose and passion, income and impact showed up!!)

🍎 And just like that, business felt more like that first sip of apple cider on a crisp fall morning.. refreshing, comforting, and something I looked forward to.

A Few Tips to Maximize Your Genius Zone:

• Batch your best work: Record multiple videos (change out our earrings, top, and lipstick as needed!) or write blogs in one creative sprint. Staying in "one" for a period of time zone will maximize your productivity!
• Color-code your weekly tasks: Green for energy gainers, red for energy suckers. Adjust accordingly. (Pro Tip: Get the tuff stuff done first and end your day on a high happy note!)
• Teach your team & biz bestie friends to find theirs: A rising tide lifts all ships and helping others makes us feel good too!
• Quarterly check-in: Ask yourself: What’s still aligned? What’s not? What's gotta go? What has to be "more"! (Ps .. High achiever? Shift for monthly or even weekly check in's)

Extra Strategies to Stay in the Zone:

• Use tools that simplify your life: Templates, automations, systems, swipe files, graphics, "done for you" content, and pre-built sales/funnels pages help you stay focused.
• Set boundaries: Start saying no to what drains you.. even if it’s “just one small thing.” Don't let a Yes become your next stress.
• Find your rhythm: Morning magic hours, afternoon bursts, or evening flow.. know when you work best and build your day around it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise .. the world is doing "business" 24/7 around the globe, so feel free to get into your "Zone of Genius" when it fits you.
• Celebrate your wins: Even small ones. Confidence grows when you pause and recognize your genius in action. Grab a special journal or note book to jot down those magic moments to celebrate

Because your time is your most valuable resource. Almost every resource on the planet is "re gainable" .. Time is not. When it's gone. It's gone gone .. And wasting it on what drains you? That’s costing you money, momentum, and joy. Wasting it on the things that drive you batty in your biz BRINGS you stress, frustration, worry, woe, anxiety and yes, even anger.. That's even a larger cost!
