July first a few days ago marked the halfway point of the year. That means it’s the perfect time to pause, reset, and get radically honest about your online business.

Whether you’re a digital entrepreneur, content creator, affiliate marketer, or just a curious woman wondering how to make extra money from home.. it’s not too late to course-correct. This moment right here? It could be your turning point.

I know what it feels like to start the year fired up.. with color-coded planners, us with sticky note pad addictions, pretty pens, exciting ideas, and that “this is my year!” energy.. and then blink and wonder where the heck all that momentum went. Been there. More than once. 😏

Why a Mid-Year Pulse Check Is Crucial

So many women set bold 🌟🥂New Year goals.. only to find ourselves drifting without realizing it. The truth? Life’s busy. Algorithms change. Seasons shift. Burnout is real .. especially in these dog days of summer.

If you’re juggling multiple hats (mom, biz owner, content creator, mentor), and wondering if you’re really making progress.. this 10 point pulse check is your "pause to breath" moment. Often we get so deep in the trenches of our every day, we forget to look up.. are we still on track or off into the toolies!

When I transitioned from network marketing to digital and affiliate marketing, I learned quickly that alignment is everything. When our systems, strategies, and daily tasks don’t "feel like us", that friction shows up in our content, our confidence, our consistency and our results.

This check-in isn’t about perfection.. it’s about permission. Permission to evolve and re-balance.

1. How many people are you adding to your network weekly?

Are you actively inviting new eyes into your business? Whether it’s email subscribers, Pinterest followers, blog readers, or Facebook group members.. exposure still matters. It matters. It has been said .. our network is often correlated with our potential net-worth.

Set a simple weekly goal. Don’t overthink it. Just track it.

2. Are you leading with value or just selling?

Be honest.

Today’s buyer is smart, skeptical & scroll-happy. They’re drawn to education, empowerment, and relatability.

Are your posts teaching something? Sharing behind-the-scenes? Offering encouragement?

Or just shouting “Buy my thing!”?

Be a "Go Giver" first in our marketing .. It builds trust that sells for you.

3. How often are you creating conversations?

Real talk: Content doesn’t convert.. connection does.

Are you creating two-way conversations? DM responses, comments, reactions, voice notes?

Even replying to one comment a day adds fuel to your visibility and credibility.

Don’t just broadcast. Engage.

4. Are your messages landing?

If your posts, stories, or emails aren’t getting replies or clicks.. it’s time to tweak your tone.

Ask yourself:

• Does this sound warm & real?
• Would I stop to read it?
• Does my call-to-action make someone curious?

Sometimes, all it takes is one small wording shift to spark a big difference.

5. Have you simplified your systems?

This was my biggest sanity saver: pick your lane and build your rhythm.

You don’t need to be on 7 platforms.

You need:

• 1-2 content themes you love
• 1-2 platforms that make sense for YOU
• Batching, reusing, and automating what you can

Fall is a great time to declutter your digital life.

6. Are you tracking what matters?

If you don’t track it, it doesn’t improve.

That doesn’t mean spreadsheets that make your eyes cross. Just pick 3–5 key markers:

• Email opens
• Blog traffic
• Pinterest saves
• Affiliate clicks
• DMs started

Clarity gives confidence. And confidence = consistency.

7. What personal development are you feeding yourself?

This is the behind-the-scenes fuel no one talks about enough.

You don’t need 6 hours of mindset work. But 15 minutes a day listening to a podcast, journaling, or reading something inspiring? That adds up.

9. Are you consistent... or constantly starting over?

Big shifts happen with small steps, stacked daily.

That’s the compound effect. And it works.

Pro Tip: That post for Facebook can be re shared to Instagram. .. Take that image and go pop it over into TikTok (yes, you CAN use a photo image 😉 not just video!) Then you can "be in more places with less work. .. Alternatively, you can take that short video and put it over into YouTube, pin it into Pinterest, TikTok, in our social media stories .. again .. save time, and make that one piece of content work for you!

10. Are you creating meaningful content?

Look back at your last 10 pieces of content. Do they:

• Teach something?
• Inspire?
• Entertain?
• Share a real-life story?

If not.. it’s time to get back to heart-led messaging.
