It’s exhausting. It's stressful. We begin to look in the mirror wondering who is this woman looking back at her .. ** And spoiler alert - it’s not profitable.

Somewhere along the way, we were taught that “being nice” was the golden ticket. That if we followed the rules, stayed small, played sweet, worked harder and didn’t make waves… success would come.

But for many of us? All that niceness led to burnout, underpayment, people-pleasing, and a business that felt more like a burden than a blessing.

Worse yet? When we finally do try to figure out how to make extra money from home, we’re told we have to cold message strangers, schmooze in Facebook groups, post perfect selfies, or sell to our friends in DMs.

No thanks.

When I Stopped Following the Crowd...

I was a "Follower" until I wasn't. I was a "Nice Girl" until I wasn't. 😱 When the crowd, or my friends, co-workers were headed in a direction that didn't jive, align with ME .. I stopped following, I spoke my truth.

😳 Then I was labelled Weird, Crazy, Bitch, Not a Team Player, Stubborn, Stupid.

The thing is - all of that was their labels, their terms & words, not mine. Unfortunately, I let them stick to me far too long. 🐺 I'm not saying YOU need to be the lone wolf out there, I'm just saying don't be a 🐭 lemming. Ok?

If something isn't sitting right in your craw, speak your truth. If something is raising a fuss in your gut, listen to your intuition.

Here’s the hard truth: being “nice” in the way the world taught us to be? It’s costing you clarity. It’s costing you confidence. And yes - it’s costing you income.

It keeps you stuck in Canva, endlessly tweaking your font instead of publishing your offer. It keeps you second-guessing your voice, dimming your message, and ghosting your own goals.

What Helped Me Finally Make Extra Money from Home

I’ve been there. I was that woman. Saying yes too much. Burning both ends of the candle, stretched to thin I thought I would snap. Editing my captions 12 times. Posting the “safe” stuff instead of the truth.

I wasn’t just tired - I was invisible. And broke.

Because what I really wanted was to figure out how to make extra money from home without losing myself in the process.

The moment I got honest .. honest with what I wanted, how I felt, and what I refused to do anymore .. everything changed. I added a little sass with my sunshine! 😂

• Offer done-for-you products you believe in - without creating from scratch.
• Talk like a human (not a highlight reel) - because connection converts.
• Automate with empathy - so you’re not in your inbox 24/7.
• Say what you actually mean – because your story is your sales strategy.

Gut Check Time: Are You Holding Back?

Let’s get honest. Ask yourself:

• Where are you saying yes when your body says no?
• Are you posting what’s safe, not what’s true?
• Are you undercharging because you don’t want to seem “too much”?
• Are you holding back your real opinions because you’re afraid someone might unfollow?

If any of that rings true.. it’s not shame. It’s your inner intuition and heart asking to be heard. You need to have some faith in yourself!

Because the moment we start honoring that voice, business gets simpler. Content flows. Energy returns. And yep, money flows too.

We were raised in a culture that praised self-sacrifice and called it kindness. We were conditioned to zip our lips, sacrifice our sanity, tone it down to make others comfortable.
