🧡 Miss Manners: Here’s Why Etiquette Matters with Making Extra Money from Home This Fall

🍁 Can We Really Say Etiquette & Network Marketing in the Same Sentence?

Yes, friend.. we absolutely can and should! And being candid, I think it's long overdue. In a world often full of keyboard meanie heads, subtle gaslighting, and people forgetting (or not caring) there’s a real human behind the screen... it’s time we bring back the kind of behavior our mamas taught us:

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

Because when it comes to how to make extra money from home/earning income online, especially during the fall hustle before the holiday rush.. our energy, integrity, and emotional intelligence are everything. Whether we’re running a digital business, posting about affiliate offers, or sharing legit work from home careers, our words matter. How we show up in DMs, comment threads, and even group chats has the power to either build trust... or tear it down.

Let’s face it: social media has created a strange illusion. Some people feel like the internet is a place where they can say things they'd never say face-to-face. They forget there's another woman, maybe just like them, on the other end of that scroll.. juggling life, caregiving, dinner, deadlines, and dreams. We've all seen it.

Maybe we've even felt the sting of it. But if we're going to talk about making money online, growing streams of income, or being a successful business woman in this gig economy... then we need to bring back class, kindness, and clear boundaries.

So YES, there IS such a thing as Etiquette in Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, and Digital Marketing or any other "money maker" we're into.

And in the spirit of Thanksgiving gratitude season and Black Friday business prep, let’s revisit what that looks like.. with a fall-forward twist.🍂

🎯 1. Keep It Happy. Keep It Positive.

Watch your top earners, your mentors, the high income jobs women who walk the talk.. they aren’t posting drama, venting politics, or debating religion. They know professionalism creates profit. That doesn’t mean you can’t be real, but it means protecting your peace online.

Your social feed is your storefront. Would you hang a big “Rant of the Day” sign in your front window during Black Friday? Nope. Neither should your content.

YES .. you should definitely voice your thoughts, say those things you whisper in your mind that you know hundreds, thousands of other women are thinking.. but do it with classy sassy boldness, creating a connection, a deep meaningful conversation of "ah-ha" moments.. 🙅‍♀️ 2. Don’t Bash Other Companies.

You don’t need to tear someone down to build yourself up. Period. If your opportunity or product is powerful, your message will shine without side-eyeing someone else’s business model. This fall, let’s focus on how to make your own money with legit work from home options that empower.. not compete. There is no lack of opportunities and ways to create and make money. We know there is enough success and sunshine for us all. ☀️

💼 3. Don’t Bash Jobs, Either.

Hellooo.... Not everyone wants to quit their job. Not everyone wants nor needs a side hustle. And that’s okay! Speak to the open-minded women, the ones craving extra money online, not "everyone". Remember: marketing is not convincing.. it’s inviting. Especially now, when many are prepping their savings account for the holidays and seeking night jobs to bridge the gap. Some women are simply looking for night jobs, simple side hustles from home, or a little extra money online.. not a full-blown business.

🤍 4. Be Yourself. Always.

People crave realness more than Barbie Doll perfect polish. Share the behind-the-scenes. The mess-ups. The mini-wins. You can still be professional and powerful while being authentic. Show up occasionally without make up. Show up with the messiest messy mom bun. Show up imperfectly. Show your circle yes you can make money in your fuzzy house coat and cold coffee. Your money maker content doesn't have to feel robotic. This season, let your personality shine like a caramel pumpkin-scented candle on a November night.

📉 5. Don’t Exaggerate.

Seriously. No one’s buying the “$10K a month overnight” myth anymore. (And seriously, anyone promising 10K or 5K in a month is a big red flag!) Be honest about the time it takes to build streams of income. High paying remote jobs, any online income creating side hustles do exist.. but they (like anything else in life) take effort, skill, time and consistency. Be the voice of truth in an industry full of smoke and mirrors.

🔁 6. Send Struggles Up. Send Goodness Down.

Vent privately, uplift publicly. That's the old-school MLM rule.. and it still stands true, applies in digital marketing, and any other online business model. When you’re posting on Facebook, your energy leaves a trace. If you’re struggling, go to your mentor, your biz bestie. If you're leading, share wins, tips, and encouragement with your audience.

That’s servant leadership with integrity.

🚫 7. Don’t Poach. Just Don’t.

Sliding into someone’s inbox to pitch your link.. when they’re already in another business.. is just... yuck. This is the number one reason why women get turned off of the idea of making money online. Cross recruiting, poaching is not how to get clients, new sales, new team members in 2025. Instead, build relationships. Offer value. And let aligned and "ready" women come to you. Poaching is desperation dressed as opportunity. Let’s do better.

..When my company unexpectedly closed, I had 16 pitches in my inbox before I even finished my first cup of morning coffee. It didn’t feel supportive.. it felt slimy and frankly pissed me off. Let’s not be "that girl.”

🦃 8. Don’t Prey on the Hurting.

Company shutdown? Product recall? Compliance issues? That woman is grieving, not shopping for her next upline. Be the friend.. not the vulture. Be the woman who sends love, virtual hugs not links. Especially this time of year, when emotions run high and everyone’s trying to keep it together before the holidays hit.

I felt a massive shock when I got the email my network marketing company closed it'd doors the day before pay day .. I thought this a poor April first joke but it wasn't April first .. By an email! Like who does that? Closes a company, tens of thousands of people and even more customers left stranded by a email? But it does.. and more often than you would think. Within 24 hours my inbox was full of baby vampires pitching me "their biz opp".. For the love of all that is good .. "Don't be one of those" people.

In the age of social media jobs and online jobs from home, class and etiquette is your edge. People are craving humanity, heart, and honesty. Show up that way.. and your content will stand out, your message will magnetize, and your side hustles from home will flourish.
