Before we taught us to be careful, we were brave without trying, without trying.

Spring did not arrive silently back then.
It arrived with scraped knees, grass stains, and the kind of excitement that made it impossible to sit still. I swear we could smell "green" in the air, the days longer, lighter, the whole world brighter.. And somehow, without anyone explaining it to us, we knew something good was coming.

As children, we didn’t wait for proof.

We believed in unicorns the way we believed in ourselves. Completely. Without irony, nor feeling even a teeny bit weird believing that if we had snuck up into that forest glade "just a few moments sooner" we would have seen a unicorn. 🦄

Unicorns weren’t just story book tall tales, songs we heard on the radio, decorations or metaphors. They were symbols of everything we felt inside. Magic, courage, rarity, strength, wonder. They were wild and untamed, just like we were, mirrors of our own inner unicorn energy.

And rainbows.

Rainbows weren’t just colors in the sky. They were promises. They meant luck. They meant treasure. Good fortune. 🌈 They meant that if you followed the ribbons of colors far enough, something wonderful would be waiting for you. That belief in good luck felt natural then.

Saint Patrick’s Day felt like that too. Green everywhere. Four-leaf clovers. Lucky charms. Gold at the end of the rainbow. It wasn’t about superstition. It was about possibility. Promise. Hope. The idea that the world held surprises, and some of them were meant just for you, especially during the hopeful energy of March and Saint Patrick’s Day. 🍀

As little girls, we didn’t shrink our dreams.
We ran headfirst into them.

We were fearless not because we were protected, but because fear had not yet learned how wedge it's way into our thoughts, into our day..

Somewhere along the way, that changed.

Where we were meant to create our own path, make brave choices, and move through the world trusting ourselves again.

Because somewhere along the way, many of us stopped putting ourselves on our own "to do" list. We take care of everyone else first. We show up. We handle it. We get things done. We keep things moving.

And maybe we don’t need to be at the very top of our "to do" list. Everyday life doesn’t always allow for that. But you and I? We do need to be on it. At least somewhere.

Unicorns were never designed to do everything.

They don’t fly like Pegasus.
