How LUCK Can Help You Make Extra Money from Home
Comparing yourself to others? It’s costing you more than confidence. Discover how L.U.C.K. (Laboring Under Correct Knowledge) can help you make real income from home—without perfection or burnout. Start here, stay consistent, and be YOU.

Let’s talk about something that most people never say out loud—especially women who want to make extra money from home aka running a business from home:
Comparison is confidence’s worst enemy.
We call it “Comparitis” around here.
It starts small. It is soo very sneaky .. You see someone else's post, someone else's win, someone else's “I just made $2K in my sleep” story—and instead of being inspired, you feel deflated. Defeated. Distracted. You are less than impressed.
With a roll of your eye, you start thinking things like:
- “She got in early. That’s why she’s winning.”
- “She had a mentor. I’m figuring it out alone.”
- “She has more time, more followers, more confidence, more ____.”
Here’s the hard truth: When you compare your beginning to someone else's middle, you take 100% of the focus off of your own journey, your tasks, your voice, your gifts, your audience.
And that’s when your business stalls.
The gut kicker is ..
Comparitis is a dream killer.
It makes us feel like we’re always one step behind. And it often partners up with her BFF: perfectionism.
That combo? Brutal. Like quicksand sucking your energy and your earnings.
Let me tell you a little secret: Years ago I used to think successful women were just lucky.
Lucky to find the right opportunity. Lucky to be under the right team. Lucky to hit the algorithm. Lucky to be at the right place at the right time.
But then I learned that LUCK isn’t magic. It’s an acronym:
L.U.C.K. = Laboring Under Correct Knowledge.
It’s not about being better. It’s about being consistent. Viewing their wins and successes as "possible", and therefor probable for me too!! .. Leaning into building habits that support our confidence, energy, and visibility—without sacrificing our sanity.
LUCK looks like:
- Building connections (even when it’s uncomfortable)
- Showing up when you say you will
- Expanding your circle and growing your leads
- Reading, learning, asking questions, and staying curious
- Accepting mentorship and staying coachable
It also looks like:
- Posting even if your Canva graphic isn’t perfect
- Sharing your story even if it’s still being written
- Going live even if your messy bun is extra messy
- Creating income before you feel “ready enough”
You don’t need to be perfect to be profitable. You just need a process.
And a little bit of grit.
A truth my own Coach years ago said: "Roxanne, if you are busy watching someone else in her business, if you’re watching her win.. You're not working on your own business. You're not creating content, conversations and certainly not cash!
I remember wincing at that moment, that it stung.
My coach also mentioned .. And while she might be celebrating her 6-figure year, you don’t see the 6 years of trying, failing, and learning it took to get there. You don't know of how many losing seasons till she had before her winning season.
I had to nod my head in agreement .. I didn't like hearing it. But it was the truth.. it was the kick in the butt I needed to help get my head on straight and back into my own lane focusing on "my money maker"
Here are two sneaky ways perfection is hurting your income:
- You spend more time preparing than posting, which means no one can actually find nor buy from you.
- You hold off sharing your offer because you think your landing page needs a glow-up—when really, people just want what you’re offering, now.
Want to know how I built confidence?
I stopped trying to be someone else’s version of success. I ditched the pressure to do it like the gurus. I started doing ME—messy, real, and honest.
In the mornings I began asking myself these two questions:
Who can I help today?
How can I show up today?
And then I let my fingers loose on the keyboard—with heart, value, encouragement, and a bit of sass and sunshine humor.
I stopped trying to “look successful” and started making moves that actually built something meaningful.
Here’s another truth bomb: most people aren’t waiting on your perfection—they’re waiting on your presence. Chipped fingernails and un-tweezed eyebrows and all!
They’re waiting for someone real, relatable, and resilient. They’re waiting for YOU.
So if you’re scrolling right now thinking you’re not enough, not there yet, or not qualified—pause.
You ARE enough. You ARE capable. You are a walking, talking, thinking, feeling, fiercely resilient woman who has figured out every hard thing life’s thrown your way.
You can figure this out too.
