Some of us were taught that success had to look a certain way:

• Climbing the ladder until 65
• Smiling through burnout to “show up”
• Hustling on Instagram to be seen

But those rules? They’re not built for women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who have a full plate, a full heart.. and not enough hours in the day to waste.

And in December? December is that season of hope, light, with a heart open to change.. With Christmas cookies, caregiving, and cluttered holiday calendars, the thought of another high-stress hustle makes us want to close our laptop from the doom scroll and hide under the flannel blankets.

You’re not imagining it. You really are doing a lot. More than we should if we really want to be truthful with ourselves..

✍️My Story: Caregiving, Loyalty & The Pivot

When my dad began to lose his eyesight, everything shifted.
Suddenly, I wasn’t working at my old corporate job.. I was now navigating doctor visits, surgery appointments, medications, every day errands and explaining the difference between shampoo and conditioner for someone who could no longer see.

And my mom? Early signs of dementia. Torn between anger of their "Golden Years" suddenly canceled and the grief of her husband of fifty year's vision loss .. She needed me.
They both did.
I wasn't just taking care of them, I found taking care of their household and yard too.

I was still showing up for my network marketing business, trying my best to be “a leader,”; checking in with my team, deep in team chats, doing the zoom trainings, seasonal sales promotional tips, the posts, the reels...

But I was exhausted.
Not just physically. Soul tired. Bone weary. Frustration began eating at my heart. I found my forehead wrinkling. My lips pursed up, shoulders tense at the small weird things that never used to phase me. For months I couldn't put my finger on it, that when...

I realized: the old model no longer worked for me.
And it sure wasn’t going to carry me into my future. Not the one I wanted.

That’s when I started breaking the rules.

That chapter of caregiving for my parents for years changed me.. and it also changed how I thought about work, time, and money. I needed something that worked for me, not through me. That’s when I found digital marketing.
